The Late Late Show with James Corden announced on Wednesday a new feature in which fans who have an upcoming bar or bat mitzvah can submit videos inviting the show to enhance their celebrations.
Late Late Show host James Corden said his late-night talk show wants to help youngsters have “the greatest bar mitzvah of all time.” The feature, aptly named #CordenMitzvah, was launched after gossip sites reported that pop-star Nicki Minaj was hired to perform at one lucky boy’s bar mitzvah party last week. The singer also posted photos from the event on her Instagram page.
“This is not an isolated incident,” Corden explained. “It turns out that everybody – from Aerosmith, to Tom Petty, to Snoop Dogg, to Iggy Azalea – have been making appearances at a bar or bat mitzvah and that’s probably really fun, unless your the kid whose bar mitzvah is next week. If your best friend just had Nicki Minaj, how do you follow that? Well I’ll tell you: you let the Late, Late Show handle your bar mitzvah for you.”
In a released statement following Corden’s announcement, CBS asked families to send in videos saying how the Late, Late Show can possibly “help make your family’s bar or bat mitzvah one sure to make headlines.”
